Robert P. Ryan, 67, of Mt. Prospect, retired in 1983 from the accounts receivables department of IBM Corp., Chicago and Des Plaines, after 25 years of service. Mr. Ryan, a Chicago native, died Wednesday, June 7, in his home. Mr. Ryan served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. “He was a dedicated husband and father,” said his son, Scott. “He was always there when we needed him. He had a lot of close friends.” Other survivors include his wife, Joan; and a sister, Barbara Karavas. A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, followed by a service in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect.
