Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
In the past two years I have shared my opinion and mostly my displeasure with the material provided by Tribune sports columnists. But I must in all fairness share my admiration for Thursday’s Skip Bayless column, a sensitive and insightful piece on the tribute the PGA gave Payne Stewart at Pebble Beach.
His ability to communicate his thoughts was clear without being mushy or melodramatic. I was able to watch the event, and Bayless did a great job of grasping the moment and using wonderful writing to give readers a mind’s-eye view of the occasion. I encourage him to do the same with his future observations of the sporting world.
