John P. Smith, 80, of Crystal Lake, died Saturday, June 17, in Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. Mr. Smith was a retired machinist. He served in the Marines in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Marsha; a stepson, John Cik; a sister, Virginia Bleeker; and a brother, Malcolm. A memorial mass will be said at a later date.
