Strawberry lovers can get their favorite fruit in just about every form imaginable-from chocolate-coated or baked in a pie to mixed into donuts, ice cream and drinks-when the Long Grove Merchants Association presents it 18th Annual Strawberry Festival, Friday through Sunday. But along with fruit cravings, festivalgoers should come with an “I love Lucy” and Elvis attitude. The festival goes retro this year with 1950s Look-alike and Hula-Hoop Contests, an Elvis performance, Sock Hop and lots of hoppin’ music. Fest hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Highways 53 and 83 in Long Grove. Free. 847-634-0888.
