Congratulations to Richard Rothschild for his fine job of nitpicking Chip Caray (Tribune, June 18). Using the word “we” referring to your favorite team goes back a long way. Remember Bob Prince? After a win by the Pirates, he’d say, “We had them all the way.” Harry Caray is gone, and so are Bob Prince and Mel Allen.
I think Chip Caray does a fine job. He works well with Steve Stone and doesn’t have the ego some young announcers have.
