The Village Board on Monday approved an intergovernmental agreement between Roselle and Bloomingdale for a bicycle/pedestrian bridge over Lake Street.
Roselle and Bloomingdale will each contribute a maximum of $265,000. A total of $115,000 will be required this fiscal year toward the project, and a maximum of $75,000 for both 2001 and 2002. The State of Illinois has promised to contribute $750,000.
Wight Consulting Engineers of Barrington has been retained to prepare initial drawings of the proposed bridge and approach way. Concept or preliminary designs and a preliminary site location are expected within 60 days of executing a contract with Wight.
Director of Public Works Robert Burns said he met recently with Bloomingdale Highway Commissioner Jim Plumb and other village officials who said they expected the first design phase of the project to be completed by Labor Day.
