Weekend train service to the Loop on the CTA’s Brown/Ravenswood Line will be extended until about midnight on weekends starting Sunday. The Chicago Transit Authority said the longer hours will help serve the high-growth neighborhoods along the route, where ridership increased when service was extended until just before midnight during the week.
Effective Sunday, Brown Line trains will serve the Loop until 11:50 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, providing Brown Line customers with weekend service comparable to the Orange/Midway Airport Line. The late-night trains will also provide service to six stations north of the Loop that are now closed when trains stop running south of the Belmont stop after 8 p.m. on Saturdays and all day Sundays and holidays.
