Before the baseball season started, most reporters and White Sox fans agreed 85 wins would be a giant step in the right direction. Now these same people talk about the Sox winning the World Series.

“Trade for a veteran starting pitcher,” they say. Trade “who” for “what” veteran starting pitcher? Trade Jon Garland? Trade Kip Wells? Trade Carlos Lee? That’s ridiculous.

A few years from now the same reporters and fans would scream, “Why did they trade young, talented players for an over-the-hill pitcher?”

Please, don’t make any trades.
