Now that gasoline prices have dropped precipitously in recent weeks and look to be continuing that trend, Gov. George Ryan should cancel the moratorium on the state sales tax. I am all for lower or no taxes, but the issue is the probable shortfall in revenue the state takes in and spends on programs that need funding. I am fearful that the politicians may institute a new fee of some sort to cure the shortfall.
