Matt C. Abbott’s Aug. 12 letter suggesting debate in our public schools between biblical creationism and evolutionism completely misses the point. The Bible is not representative of all religions. Does he suggest the Islam, Hindu and Buddhist interpretations of creation be included in the discussion? Once you bring religion into the schools it becomes a matter of which one and whose interpretation of it. The result is always exclusionary and offensive to one group or another. Let’s save the creation versus evolution debates for Sunday school, not public school.
