I would like to take issue with your headline “Football prayer, the right way” on the Aug. 29 editorial. The We Still Pray group may have found a legal solution to the Supreme Court’s decision about prayers offered over the public-address system at football games, but that solution still reflects the tyranny of the majority.

If that group was looking for a solution that would teach their young people what the true spirit of democracy is all about, then the “right” solution would have been a moment of silence to allow each individual some time to pray (or not pray) in keeping with his or her personal beliefs. The democratic spirit respects, values and supports differences.
