Andrew Harris, 52, a 34-year resident of Elgin, was a printer at Diamond International, a St. Charles printing company, for the last 15 years. Mr. Harris, who was born in Parkin, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 9, in Glen Oaks Nursing Center, Northbrook. Mr. Harris coached Little League and Pony League baseball and peewee football in Elgin during the 1970s and 1980s. “He was a good father,” said his son Kenneth. “He was always there for his kids. He worked two jobs. We traveled a lot.” Other survivors include his wife, Clara; three other sons, Vincent, Gregory and Alex; two daughters, Phyllis and Shalonda; five sisters, Annie Mae Di France, Laura Lee, Mattie Simon, Doris Bills and Johnnie Mae Span; two brothers, Robert Harris and OtieTownsend; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, when a service will begin, in Second Baptist Church, 1280 Summit St., Elgin.
