Calling Frank fans. Not that Frank. Frank Lloyd Wright. Admirers of the architect and his work can take a guided tour of the Seth Peterson Cottage in Baraboo, Wis., on either Oct. 8 or Nov. 12. Although this cottage in Mirror Lake State Park is available for public rental, this may be the best way to see it–the one-bedroom abode is typically booked at least a year in advance. Tours from 4-7 p.m. on Oct. 8 cost $20 and include a fall boat cruise on Mirror Lake. On either Oct. 8 or Nov. 12, house tours from 1-4 p.m. cost $2. (608-254-2333)….A bit farther afield, the Pope-Leighey House in Mt. Vernon, Va., one of the “Usonian” houses Wright designed for clients of moderate means, is offering in-depth tours from 9-11 a.m. on Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3. Additional dates may be added for next year. The 1,200-square-foot house and its furniture was built for a newspaper editor in the early 1940s; the house was later moved to its current home on the grounds of Woodlawn, a plantation house designed for Martha Washington’s granddaughter. Be sure to reserve in advance for the focus tours, which cost $20 and include a continental breakfast. (703-780-4000)

OHIO’S RICHES

Guess grapes are a bigger crop in Ohio than most of us realized. The Fall Harvest Weekend Package on Nov. 3-5 at Mohican State Park Resort near Loudonville in north central Ohio provides several opportunities to sample the pickings. On Saturday, guests can swirl and swish away during a wine tasting. After dinner, they can try out Ohio-made ports and sherries. Instead of the usual orange and apple juice at breakfast, the buffet will feature Ohio grape juice. Two-night packages range from $375-$395, depending on room type, and include dinner on Saturday, two breakfasts and a tour of Malabar Farm, which holds a sentimental place in the hearts of Hollywood trivia fans as being the site of Humphrey Bogart’s wedding to Lauren Bacall.
