Much was made of the recent meeting of President Clinton and Fidel Castro and the fact that they shook hands at a luncheon of the United Nations Millennium Summit (“Castro gets affectionate farewell at Harlem fete,” News, Sept. 10).
I was surprised that the Cuban leader would shake any U.S. president’s hand considering what we have been doing to his people.
