Henry C. Mauer, 80, Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Monday September 25, 2000 in The Gardens Senior Living, Springfield, Missouri. Mr. Mauer was born on March 13, 1920 in Pastow, Germany, the son of the late Adolph and Elsie, nee Kreutzman Mauer. He was united in marriage February 21, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois, to Edith Marie Condon, she preceded him in death in 1990. Prior to moving to Springfield, Henry was an electircal operator with Commonwealth Edison Company for over 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1946 in the infantry, stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. Henry was a member of the American Legion, Edison Post #118 for 50 years and also a member of Martin Lutheran Church where he was involved in the men’s club, ushering and the church choir. He was noted for his off the wall humor and compassion, and will be sorely missed. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Mauer of Springfield, MO; a son, Jack Mauer of Victor, MT; two step-sons, Bob & Michael Trott, both of Chicago, IL; two step daughters, Carol Patrizi and Donna Pugliani both of Chicago, IL; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Lucas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2000 at Ayre-GoodwinLee Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be held Sunday October 1, 2000 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
