I’m glad the Big Ten Conference is able to admit they’re sorry for the way the inept bumblers masquerading as officials cost Illinois a victory against Michigan last week. If crew chief Bill LeMonnier was almost in tears after the effort put forth by him and his officiating crew, then he needs to consider the feelings of 72,000 disgusted Illini fans. Officials should never decide the outcome of any big game.

The Big Ten office should do something other than threaten that crew with being withheld from postseason games. That crew should never work another Illinois, Big Ten or postseason game. As long as incompetent officials are allowed to decide the outcome of important games without fear of reprisal, then the Big Ten Conference will be as credible as the World Wrestling Federation. At least they let you know the outcome is predetermined.
