Thomas E. “Geb” Gebhardt, 35 year resident of Palatine, born in Black River Falls, WI, on December 29, 1935, died September 30, 2000, loving son of the late Ernest and Breta Marie; dear husband of 35 years to Marian; beloved father of Amy of Tempe, AZ, Jennifer (Chad) Westerlund of St. Charles and Meg of Sandy, OR; grandfather of Matthew Sentman, Nicholas and Ryan Westerlund; fond brother of Shirley Gebhardt of LaGrange and Lois Hillion of Indianhead Park. Thomas was a South Shore High School graduate, a DePaul and Northwestern Masters graduate. He taught for two years at Barrington High School and 28 years as a journalism teacher at Prospect High School as well as the newspaper advisor during that time. He was also an instructor at the Kettle-Moraine Press Association, a member of the Northern Illinois School Press and summer instructor at White Water University of Wisconsin. Memorial visitation Tuesday, October 3, from 3 to 9 p.m., at Algrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, IL.
