Eugene A. Gaus, 90, of Wheaton and formerly Villa Park, died Sunday, Oct. 1, in Westbridge at Wyndmere in Wheaton. Born in Obendorf am Neckar, Germany, Mr. Gaus was trained as a machinist and worked as a building superintendent. “He was a good grandfather and a kind-hearted gentleman,” said his son-in-law Robert Klett. Mr. Gaus had been a resident of Villa Park for 55 years. Other survivors include three daughters, Gertrude Klett, Virginia Vernon and Eleanor Beine; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.
