Let’s regulate pushcarts, now. Two or three times each hour I must listen either to ringing bells or the honking of a bicycle horn announcing a pushcart. I am tired of picking up food wrappers, ice-cream wrappers and corn skewers. The pushcarts need to be regulated to prevent a daily six- to eight-hour barrage of bells and honking bicycle horns. Regulate them to keep them off the residential streets to bring back some quiet. Regulate them so the hardworking Park District folks at Hanson and Riis Park do not need to spend their valuable time on Mondays and Tuesdays picking up the trash that has been strewn from some of the customers of pushcart vendors.

I’m not against earning a wage. What I am against is the noise, the trash and possible suspect health standards.
