Jack L. Hollenbeck, 74, an optometrist, of Appleton, Wis., formerly of Roselle, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, after a battle with cancer. Born in Deerfield, Mich., Dr. Hollenbeck graduated from Marlette, Mich., High School in 1943. He served with the Navy Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. After receiving an honorable discharge, he earned a degree in optometry at the Chicago School of Optometry and owned an optometric practice in Roselle for more than 20 years, until moving to Appleton, where he continued his practice. Dr. Hollenbeck was a long-standing member of the Illinois and Wisconsin Optometric Associations, as well as a member of the Joliet McAllster American Legion Band. He had a love of music and also was an avid private pilot and foreign car enthusiast. Survivors include his wife, Marie; daughters Jennifer Sarhaddi, Paula Hufmann and Deborah Quinn; brothers Frank and Max; a sister, Kay Wilczak; and three grandchildren. Services have been held.
