Pamela Jean Peterson. With her family by her side, our loving sister, aunt and friend, Pamela Peterson passed away on Sept. 29, 2000. Born June 9, 1950 to Ruth Murphy Midkiff and Robert Peterson, she was a lifelong resident of Chicago. Pam loved the simple pleasures life offers, she enjoyed her home, being with friends, visiting family and spoiling her two nieces. She also loved her career at Allstate/CNA where she was fortunate to spend more than 20 years working side by side with many close friends. Those left behind include two brothers, Ron Peterson (Denise Normand) and Dennis Peterson (Nancy, and nieces Molly and Grace); stepfather, Quinton Midkiff of St. George, Utah; and stepmother, Marjorie Peterson of Braidwood, IL. Her mother and father preceded her in death. Our Pam will leave a great emptiness behind. She would not have us fill the void with the pain of our loss, but with memories of her always compassionate, ex-tremely witty and extraordinatry sweet personality. A celebration of Pam’s life will be held Sat-urday, Oct. 7, 3 to 7 p.m., at The Cooney Funeral Home, 3552 N. Southport Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Humane Society in Pam’s memory. 773-472-5650 .
