It is hard to believe that Clarence Page’s opinion (“A world apart: Eminem and me,” Commentary, Sept. 17) toward Eminem (and other rap artists) is so close-minded.
No rap singer or movie star should be blamed for his or her audience’s actions. Our society is full of violence outside our window, on the radio and on our television set.
Why should there be restrictions on things that are used as entertainment? If so, then let’s stop the news! What about Columbine High School? The news reports about it were horrendous. Yet it was broadcast all over the world.
We all have the right to express ourselves. Mr. Page expresses himself on paper; let others express themselves as they see best.
