Magda Margaret Szabo, age 44, of Racine, WI, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 18, 1956 in Racine, WI, to Laszlo and Magda, nee Korako, Szabo. Other survivors include her brother Les, his wife Karen, and their children Steven and Joey; brother Mike Szabo; dear friends Suzette Sniegowski and family of Lemont, IL, Gabi August and family of New York, Debbie Ryan and family of Racine, and Cary Larson and his extended family of Pukwana Island on Big Cedar Lake in WI; other relatives in Hungary, Colorado, and Racine; and her aunt Helen in Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. She graduated from J I Case High School and Parkside University, and was previously employed by St. Mary’s Medical Center and SYVA Company. Most recently, she was a sales rep for Roche Pharmaceuticals. She was a member of St. Sebastion’s Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Sebastion’s Catholic Church in Sturtevant, WI on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the South Eastern Wisconsin Regional Cancer Center, Y-ME National Breast Cancer Foundation or Cancer Fund of your choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane and his staff and to St. Mary’s Nursing Staff for their loving care of Magda.
