Frederick J. Ruegsegger, born Oct. 4, 1920 in Switzerland, died Oct. 9, 2000. Mr. Ruegsegger was schooled and trained in theoretical and practical economics in Switzerland, France and Spain. He arrived in the United States in 1948 and became soon after chief executive officer of all enterprises, foundations and trusts owned by the International Olympic President, Avery Brundage of Chicago. Mr. Ruegsegger succeeded Mohammed Taher Pasha of Egypt as International Olympic advisor to the I.O.C. President. He was the recipient of numerous distinctions, such as the Olympic Order, the Olympic Diploma, the Brundage Gold Medal of Merit, the Chinese Military Command Citation for Extraordinary Service, the Chiang Kai Chek Gold Medal for Distinguished Service. Survivors are his wife, Gertrude; and three sons, Frederick, Peter and Charles. Services and interment will be private.
