I recently received a guide from Mothers Against Drunk Driving for detecting drunk drivers. They are:
1. Turning with wide radius.
2. Straddling center of the road.
3. Almost striking an object or vehicle.
4. Weaving.
5. Driving on other than designated roadway.
6. Swerving.
7. Driving more than 10 m.p.h. below the speed limit.
8. Stopping without cause in traffic lane.
9. Following too closely.
10. Drifting.
11. Tires on center left-hand lane.
12. Braking erratically.
13. Driving into opposing or crossing traffic.
14. Signaling inconsistent with driving action.
This absolutely describes the several recent handheld-car-phone users that I have encountered.
Please support and push for legislation to outlaw this ludicrous and dangerous practice. Because common sense and regard for others’ well-being seem to be absent, may I suggest that drivers install hands-free equipment or pull over when calling.
I am an MACP (Mother Against Car Phones).
