Dr. Hector M. Munoz, 70, passed away on Oct. 10, 2000 in a local hospital. Dr. Munoz was a wonderful and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. He was a native of Bogota, Columbia, then moved to Chicago where he proudly received his U.S. citizenship, before moving to Va. Beach 23 years ago. He has been a successful surgeon and Psychiatrist for all of his adult life. His loving wife, Carolyn W. Munoz, precedes him in death. Survivors include his four children, Pilar Diana Munoz, Bryan Munoz, Ken Mazzio and Kevin Mazzio; four grandchildren, Abigail Beam, Nicholas Mazzio, John Mazzio and Kai Mazzio. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Charles N. Moore following at 3 p.m. in Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
