Every day, when I read through a newspaper such as yours, I see dozens of headlines and pages dedicated to revealing horrible news about teens today.
I read about gang fights, teens who destroy public property and drug and alcohol abuse.
I understand that there are many teens who make very destructive decisions, and believe me, we hear about it every day.
What I don’t understand is the fact that I hardly ever see a newspaper article about the good things teens do these days.
Teens everywhere do so many good deeds.
I have a friend who dedicates almost every spare moment she has at her church, volunteering her time and service.
I volunteer nearly every Sunday at a therapeutic riding program at Freedom Woods Equestrian Center.
Clubs at our school visit people in nursing homes and hospitals, raise money for poor or underprivileged people, do fundraisers for the sick.
The teens do this not because they have to and are told to but because they know it’s right and they want to do it.
Your newspaper has so many pages, why not add one about all the good things teens and other people do?
There are so many good deeds people do, but they remain unnoticed because the papers are filled to the brim with depressing stories of hatred and unhappiness.
I, for one, would like to see some better news.
