Wayne McCann, of Superior, Colorado; formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died at home on October 7, 2000 of natural causes, he was 55 years old. He was born to Catherine McCann on May 5, 1945 in Chicago. Mr. McCann married Sandra Gillespie in Chicago August 26, 1972. He loved his adopted state of Colorado and longed to live there. On July 6, 1997 he and Sandra moved to Boulder County, Colorado. He was employed by Denver University and the State of Colorado. He was a member of the Chicago Chief Engineers’ Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Wayne enjoyed sports, hiking, photography and music. His wife Sandra McCann of Superior, Colorado; her parents, Edga and Betty Gillespie of Greenview, Illinois; and his sister-in-law Cheryl Gillespie of Chicago survive him. He was preceded in death by his mother. A memorial service was conducted in the chapel of Crist Mortuary in Boulder, Colorado on October 11, 2000.
