I’m sure I speak for all Cub fans when I grudgingly congratulate the White Sox on their fine season. True, they were broomed out of the playoffs, but the Mariners, a tough bunch, were extended an extra inning by the South Siders. I’d heard the kids can play, but I, along with most Sox fans, didn’t watch the games in which they are supposed to have demonstrated this ability.
