Sr. Xavier Virginia Morgan, S.Sp.S., age 68, died peacefully in Maria Hall at the Convent of the Holy Spirit, Techny, IL on Thursday, October 12, 2000, Sr. Xavier joined the Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters in 1950. In 1962, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from DePaul University, and later a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Catholic University, Washington, DC; she served as Vice President of Nursing at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, IL from 1964 unitl 1986 when she joined the Sisters’ community in Maria Hall, providing activities for elderly Sisters. Sr. Xavier is survived by her mother, Marie Morgan, three sisters, Suzanne Buckley, Diane Bowes, Ruth Matter; two brothers, Arthur and James, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Convent of the Holy Spirit, Techny, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 3 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery also in Techny. 773-736-3833
