I take great exception to Skip Bayless’ Saturday column. He gushed on and on about how the Sox were destined to lose and how this was probably their last shot for years to come. Well, I have news for Mr. Bayless and the rest of the Chicago media who ignored the Sox through this wonderful season: You’re fooling yourself if you think it was a fluke. This team has a lot of potential and a lot of young, hungry talent . . . a much better foundation to build on than Tribune Co.’s floundering Cubs.
The Sox have a great mix of young and veteran talent and an owner who wants to win. The Cubs have an amusement park that they fill every season and “fans” who don’t pay attention to what’s going on down on the field. True Cub fans would do themselves a favor if they did like White Sox fans and stayed away from the park until management puts a product to be proud of on the field.
