James E. Hill, of Lake Zurich, IL, beloved husband of Arlene, nee Lato; loving father of Jeffery L. (Patricia A.), Gregory S. (Angela C.), Mark E., Gail D. (Richard A.) Richter and Kurt A. Hill; dear stepfather of Laurie A. (Paul) Montalto-Rivest, Angelo F. (Pamela A.) Saccameno, Phillip V. (Janine M.) and Frank A. (Jessica P.) Saccameno; loving grandfather of six and stepgrandfather of eight; fond brother of Bert (Barbara) Hill and the late Shirley Dowel. James Edward Hill was born on Jan. 13, 1928 in Chicago and passed away on Oct. 13, 2000. He is preceded in death by his father, Burt L. Hill; mother, Elsie O. Hill; and sister, Shirley Dowel. James was honorably discharged from The United States Navy on Dec. 27, 1947 with the ranking of Fireman First Class and was the recipient of The Victory Medal for World War II. James attended The University of Illinois and received his Bachelor of Science Degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. He cofounded the Illinois based comapny, Dynetics Engineering Corporation in 1967, which pioneered several technologies in the credit card industry. He retired from active involvement in the company in 1989. The corporation continues under the direction of his sons, Jeff, Greg and Mark. After his retirement, James and Arlene enjoyed spending time in Coronado Cays, CA and became equity members in The Coronado Cays Yacht Club. Friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester (2 blks. W. of Mannheim), on Wednesday from 3 until 8 p.m. An evening Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment private.
