Angeline M. Carpenter, 78, a homemaker from Lombard, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, in Bloomingdale Pavilion. Born in Chicago. Mrs. Carpenter was a Cicero resident until moving to Lombard in 1968. “She took care of the family but worked as a solderer during World War II,” said her son, Kevin. Mrs. Carpenter remarried after her first husband, a sailor, was killed in the war. “My parents were the kind of people who never thought twice about helping out people and never worried about how it might affect them,” her son said. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Mrs. Carpenter is also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
