Roy A. Schmitt, 84, a retired terminal manager in the freight industry, died Monday, Oct. 16, in his Villa Park home. Mr. Schmitt was born in Fountain City, Wis. Survivors include four daughters, Diane Kiefer, Carol Filczer, Marlene Schmitt and Donna Draper; two sons, James and Richard; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbert; a sister, Ida Justin; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with mass at 10 a.m. in St. Alexander Catholic Church, 300 S. Cornell Ave., Villa Park.
