To make a lithograph, a printer draws on a limestone or zinc surface with a special greasy crayon–then chemically treats it to fix the image on the surface. In other words, it’s far cooler than glass-blowing. As part of the Chicago Public Library’s ongoing “Paper and Press” display, printers will demonstrate lithography and other techniques in a 6 p.m. demonstration Thursday at Anchor Graphics, 119 W. Hubbard St. Free. Organized by the library’s Harold Washington Center; 312-747-4999.
