Harold C. McKenney Jr, 69, of Lakewood, at rest October 22, 2000. Beloved husband of Merry Ann, nee Larson, loving father of Susan McKenney, Jannon Kirley, David McKenney, Diane, Philip McKenney, Charles “Chip” (Ann) McKenney, Gillian (Adrian) Gosch, and the late Bruce McKenney; proud grandfather of five; dear brother of Lawrence McKenney, Robert McKenney, Mary Beth Gilchrist, and the late Donald McKenney; fond uncle of Stacy (Mark) Ditka. Mr. McKenney was an Army Vet of the Korean Conflict. He received his Undergraduate and Law degrees from the University of Illinois in Champagne. His distinguished career began as an Assistant States Attorney in Winnebago County and began his law practice in Crystal Lake in 1959, the past 20 years of counsel to the law firm of Campion, Curran, Rausch, Gummerson and Dunlop, P.C. of Crystal Lake. He served as an Assistant Attorney General under Illinois Governors Kerner and Shapiro, as a Trustee and Chairman of the Regional Board of School Trustees for McHenry County, and as a former Trustee for the Village of Lakewood. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 26, at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crsytal Lake. Interment in Crystal Lake Memorial Park. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake.
