Dorothy C. Breen, 88, of Mt. Prospect, a homemaker, was an election judge from the 1960s to the 1980s. Mrs. Breen died Monday, Oct. 23, in Holy Family Medical Center, Des Plaines. Mrs. Breen was a volunteer in the gift shop at Holy Family during the 1960s and ’70s, with more than 5,000 hours of service. She was president of the former American Legion Post 242 Auxiliary in Chicago, where she was a member in the 1950s and ’60s. “She had a wonderful sense of humor,” said her son Timothy. “She was a good mother and a caring person in the neighborhood.” Other survivors include her husband, Patrick; a daughter, Patricia Brown; three more sons, Michael, Dennis and Thomas; a brother, Donald Christiansen; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Raymond Catholic Church, Elmhurst Road and Lincoln Avenue, Mt. Prospect.
