Stan “Mono” Monokoski, age 90, an entertainment promoter, nightclub and catering establishment owner of the famed Club Mono for 35 years, died Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Spring Hill, FL, of natural causes. He was active with Lions Club International and was responsible for helping to found over 100 new chapters both in Chicago and Florida. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helene, nee Washko; daughters, Dolores (Jack) Nelson, Carole (Dennis) Drust, Beverly (Edwin) Lezaj, Linda (Michael) Ruberto and his son Gibby, professor at Waubonsee College in Illinois; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Spring Hill, FL. Visitation will be on Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. and6 to 8 p.m. at Turner Memorial Chapel, 14360 Spring Hill Dr. Phone: 352-796-3588.
