Marlene M. Pasko, 64, former vice president of S.J. Pasko & Associates Real Estate Appraisal Co. in Arlington Heights, died of cancer Sunday, Oct. 22, in her home in Arlington Heights. After her children were raised, Mrs. Pasko took a sales position with Xerox Corp. in Des Plaines in the mid-1970s. When her husband, the late Stanley Pasko, opened the real estate appraisal firm in the mid-1980s, Mrs. Pasko was its vice president, working on finances and organizing appraisal reports. She retired in 1995 after the firm was sold. She enjoyed the outdoors and was known to rescue stray or injured animals, among them cats, dogs and raccoons. “She would nurse baby raccoons and then release them,” her daughter Sherry Alexander, said. Other survivors include another daughter, Karen Olson; a sister, Anita Schmitt; and five grandchildren. Services were Wednesday in Palatine.
