Ray Bottari, 51, of Glendale Heights, the owner of Signs by Tomorrow in Arlington Heights, died Monday, Oct. 23, in Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood. Mr. Bottari formed the company in 1992 after leaving Molex Corp. in Lisle, where he had been a plant superintendent. “He was just a regular guy who gave of himself,” said his former wife, Pam. Born in Chicago, Mr. Bottari entered the commercial sign and banner business at the urging of a friend, she said, adding, “He was tired of what he was doing and wanted to go out on his own.” Mr. Bottari enjoyed fishing and golfing and was a member of G.O.N.E., an organization of suburban business owners. “His last words were `I tried to be a good person,”‘ his ex-wife said. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly; a son, Jonathan; his parents, Leonard and Victoria; a sister, Elaine Riner; and a brother, Kenny. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Cypress Funeral Home, 1698 N. Bloomingdale Rd., Glendale Heights. Mr. Bottari’s friend Rev. John Guiney will say mass at 11 a.m. in St. Isidore Catholic Church, 427 W. Army Trail Rd., Bloomingdale.
