Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I used to enjoy reading the Chicago Tribune. But I’ve reached a point where I can no longer tolerate the Tribune’s biased reporting on the presidential race.

Your Oct. 25 Page 1 headline notes “Gore keeps lead in Illinois,” this based on a Tribune/WGN-TV poll. What were the parameters of your recent poll? Who was polled?

In the past several years, the press has always printed stories or reader opinions about voter apathy. The truth is, I believe one of the biggest reasons for voter apathy is because of the press. Many voters feel that their one vote can’t make a difference; those who believe that are dead wrong.

Everyone wants to be on the winning team so cast your vote for the guy the newspapers are saying is leading in the polls; you wouldn’t want to vote for the guy who is going to lose.

The problem is that many voters believe what a poll says and won’t take the time out to know and understand the issues and the platforms of the candidates.

Polls should be banned. Voters need to go to their polling place on Election Day and vote without being swayed by any surveys or polls.
