Harriet M. Dobbert, 89, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Naperville, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Oklahoma Christian Home in Edmond. Mrs. Dobbert was a longtime Naperville resident and an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She attended Valley State Teachers College in North Dakota and was a teacher in rural schools for three years prior to her marriage to Lenard F. Dobbert in 1934. After several years in Chicago, the Dobberts moved to Naperville in 1947. Mrs. Dobbert served for many years as a Sunday school teacher and was involved in many committees and organizations at the church. “She was very much a part of our church community,” said George Stone, a fellow churchgoer and former neighbor. “She was very thoughtful and always there for people who needed her.” Survivors include two daughters, Jean Caldwell and Laurel Snyder; a brother, David Baarstad; and a granddaughter. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren St., Naperville, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at 11 a.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 21 E. Franklin St., Naperville.
