So it’s being said that because Mark Grace batted .280 and hit just 11 home runs he’s one of the reasons for the demise of the Cubs. Grace never was a home-run hitter, and this is one of the few years he has batted below .300.
Next to Sammy Sosa, Grace is the best player on the Cubs. In addition to batting .280 with 11 home runs, he’s a candidate for another Gold Glove.
Grace alone wants to accept blame for the demise of the Cubs, but Cubs fans know one man can’t accept that responsibility. His loyalty and enthusiasm make Mark Grace my favorite Cub.
