Alan David Westbrook, 49, an actor, died Friday October 27, 2000 in Texas after a 16-month battle with head and neck cancer. Born March 8, 1951, Alan grew up in Whittier, California. He then attended the Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts in California. As a flight attendant, he met and married Barbara Brandt and lived in Evergreen Colorado. The family moved to Western Springs in 1983. Mr. Westbrook was a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. A lover of music, art, sailing, nature, mountains, fishing, and life, he was humorous, outgoing, outspoken, giving, caring, and a loving husband, father, and friend. He volunteered for the B.E.D.S.’s program, coached Little League baseball, and soccer and announced swim meets. Survivors include wife Barbara; daughters Anna (22), Kate (20); son Brandt (17); his parents and brother. Memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs (708-246-5220) at 5250 Wolf Road, on Wednesday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. With Visitation starting at 5 p.m. before the service.
