When elephants, clowns and acrobats are not enough, there’s always Marilyn Monroe. The actress came out of seclusion in 1955 in dramatic fashion, wearing fancy jewelry and riding a pink elephant through the circus. Today’s Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus displays her jewelry, plus 18 backstage photos of that night, for an hour before the Greatest Show On Earth, which runs Friday through Nov. 12 at Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Rd., Rosemont, and Nov. 14-26 at United Center, 1901 W. Madison St. Showtimes vary. $9.50, $16.50 and $21.50. 312-559-1212.
