It is sad that Carolyn Burke, a teen from Elk Grove Village, died because she got in the car with a drunk driver. But your Oct. 30 article only briefly mentions that she failed to wear a seat belt and does not mention if the other passengers were wearing theirs. Maybe if she had buckled up, the story would have had a different ending.
There seems to be two important issues in this story. Let us not just educate people about the effects of drunk driving; let us also educate everyone that seat belts do save lives.
