Why is nobody crying foul about Cook County’s ballot? I stood alone in the booth, tears welling up in my eyes as I realized I didn’t know which hole to punch because of the same problem in Palm Beach, Florida.
At the time I thought it was just me, a 40-year-old college-educated woman who wanted to ensure not all the judges were retained due to recommendations by your paper and lawyer associations. I even had an election official come over in case there was something wrong with the alignment of the ballot.
I walked out stunned, realizing I may have inadvertently voted yes when I meant no, and vice versa. Election officials please take heed for the next election.
