AIDS drug deal: Pfizer, the world’s leading drug firm, signed an unprecedented deal with the South African government on Friday for the free supply of its AIDS drug Diflucan for an initial two-year period. The initiative, sealed on World AIDS Day, will provide the company’s anti-fungal medication Diflucan (fluconazole) at no charge to patients in the public health system suffering from AIDS-related fungal infections of the brain and thrush in the throat.
