Marshall J. Hawkinson, former resident of Homewood, IL since 1951, beloved husband of Elsie, nee Sedlak, Hawkinson; loving father of Mark (Maureen) of College Station, TX and Cathy Chinn (Mark) of Jackson, MS; dear brother of the late Donald (Vega) and Robert (Anita); caring grandfather of John, Jennifer, Courtney, Casey, Carly and Conley. Educated in the Rockford Public Schools. Graduated from Rockford Central High School. Graduated Michigan Technical School with Engineer Degree. With Ingalls Shepard Division of Wyman-Gordon Co. for 35 years in several technical, supervisory and management positions, including plant manager. Member of Harvey Association of Commerce and Industry and Memorial YMCA Crusade of Mercy. Corporate Rep. to Ingalls Hospital. Married in 1946 to Elsie. Member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Homewood. 3 terms as Trustee. Coached and served on the Board of Homewood Baseball. Member of the Friends of the Library and Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve and Chicago Heights Country Club. Memorial Service to be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 186 Dixie Highway, Homewood, IL, Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to Homewood Paramedics and Faith Lutheran Church. Cremation Society of Illinois handling arrangements.
