Joan Porter, nee Bell, of Chicago, age 51, on December 29, 2000, beloved wife of Thomas III; loving mother of Thomas IV and Evan; cherished sister of Lee, Lloyd, Flynn, and Gwendolyn Bell and Mamie Bell Woods; also survived by four aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; dearest co-worker at University of Chicago.
